LITTLE LUMINOUS FORESTS inquires the meaning of cultural property collected in the region and how they could be interpreted in this contemporary era, reflecting multiple layers of conditions in the time of both production and collection. Furthermore, LITTLE LUMINOUS FOREST explore alternative ways of mutual understanding between the people with different cultural backgrounds. This installation work consists of text, light, sound, and folk materials such as 19 Awa-Jorui Poppets created, used, collected and have not travelled since the collection in the region of Tokushima, Shikoku Island and exhibited in the Art Museum for the first time.
