GAP is a place of sharing and experimentation based on diverse perspectives, and explores cross-disciplinary practices that go beyond existing cultural frameworks.
Students aim to acquire diverse perspectives by working with their minds and hands, through discourse and creation, and practice learning through collaboration. Based on the idea of “thinking with your hands”, that is, the hands themselves are the brain, GAP emphasizes the fundamental power of the hands as an artist.
Under such background, 401 studio is the sharing place between all students in GAP where they can work by hands individually or together, as well as exchange ideas with each other. During the Toride Geisai period, the 401 studio will be open for the public.

対話と創作を通じて、頭と手を動かしながら多様な視点を獲得し、協働して学ぶ実践を目指します。 GAPは「手で考える」、つまり手そのものが脳であるという考えのもと、アーティストとしての手の根源的な力を重視しています。
このような背景のもと、401スタジオはGAPの学生全員が個人または共同で手を動かしたり、アイデアを交換したりできる共有の場所です。取手芸祭期間中は401スタジオをオーペンスタジオとして開放いたします。
