The Global Art Joint Project of the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts was establishedin 2015, in collaboration with the world’s top art institutions: the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Artsd e Paris, Central Saint Martins, University o f the Arts London; and t h e School o f Art Institute of Chicago. TheGlobal Art Joint courses are comprised of three units including instructors, assistants, and students from the fieldo f fine arts who together work o n art projects based i n various countries across the world. The Global Art Jointcurriculum offers courses jointly with students from the above-mentioned institutions with an emphasis on socialarts practice (the practice of contemporary art in society)In this joint class instructors and students travel between Japan and Chicago, where they work to carry out artisticresearch drawn from a variety o f perspectives. As part o f a socially-engaged art program, they will participatecollaboratively in fieldwork, workshops, and site-specific art production. The resulting artworks are exhibited atinternational exhibitions.
グローバルアート共同プロジェクト2018とは東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科は2015年度より、世界の芸術系大学を代表するパリ国立高等美術学校（エコール・デ・ボザール）、ロンドン芸術大学セントラル・セント・マーチンズ校、そしてシカゴ美術館附属美術大学とそれぞれ連携し、国際共同授業「グローバルアート共同プロジェクト」を実施しています。ファインアート分野の教員と学生が国や大学の枠組みを超えてユニットチームを組み、ソーシャル・アート・プラクティス（現代アートの社会実）を行なう様々な演習を共同で開設しています。このシカゴユニットの共同授業は、教員と学生が日本とシカゴを行き来し、両国の文化の共通点や差異を学び、ユニットのテーマを糸口に社会参加を前提としたフィールドワークやワークショップ、スタジオ内外での制作活動などを行なうことで、各々が複合的な視野を広げその表現を新たにし、深め、発表することを目的としています。
