Event Description : Jewellery is something most people feel a connection to. It’s intimate—closely tied to the body—and needs to be worn to be complete. More than just decoration, jewellery often expresses identity and how we want to be seen.
Unlike many other craft disciplines, art jewellery isn’t limited to a single material. While ceramics and textiles are typically rooted in clay or fabric, art jewellery can incorporate almost anything. Its wearable nature opens up a unique space for artistic exploration—across materials, aesthetics, and ideas. Precious metals meet plastic, wood, paper, leather, and found objects in works that are both portable and conceptually rich.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Norwegian Association for Craft Artists (Norske Kunsthåndverkere), Nitja has invited a selection of influential and forward-thinking artists to take part in a large exhibition. The selected works span from 1975 to today, making connections across generations. Iconic pieces by established artists are shown alongside new approaches from a younger generation, offering a chance to see how small, wearable objects can embody bold artistic ideas.
In parallel, the Norwegian Association for Craft Artists and Nitja are hosting an extended public programme in collaboration with partners such as Norwegian Crafts, among others. Through talks, guided tours, and workshops, visitors are invited to explore the many facets of contemporary art jewellery.

イベントの概要 : ジュエリーは、多くの人にとって特別なつながりを感じるものです。
それは親密で、身体と密接に結びついており、身につけることで初めて完成します。装飾以上の存在であり、ジュエリーはしばしば自分自身を表現する手段であり、「どう見られたいか」という思いを映し出します。
他の多くのクラフト分野とは異なり、アートジュエリーは特定の素材に限定されません。陶芸が粘土に、テキスタイルが布に根ざしているのに対し、アートジュエリーはほぼあらゆる素材を取り入れることができます。身につけることができるという性質が、素材、美学、そしてコンセプトを越えて、芸術的な探求のユニークな場を生み出します。貴金属とともに、プラスチック、木材、紙、革、拾い集めたオブジェなどが出会い、携帯可能でありながらも、概念的に豊かな作品が生まれるのです。
ノルウェー工芸作家協会（Norske Kunsthåndverkere）の設立50周年を記念し、Nitja現代美術センターでは、影響力のある先進的な作家たちを招き、大規模な展覧会を開催します。出展作品は1975年から現在に至るまでのものを含み、世代を超えたつながりを示します。確立された作家による象徴的な作品と、若い世代による新しいアプローチが並び、小さな身につけるオブジェがいかに大胆な芸術的アイデアを体現できるかを紹介します。
これと並行して、ノルウェー工芸作家協会とNitjaは、Norwegian Craftsなどのパートナーと連携し、トークイベント、ガイドツアー、ワークショップなどを通じた多彩なパブリックプログラムを実施します。来場者の皆様には、現代アートジュエリーの多様な側面を体験していただけます。
