In rural Japan, there is an ancient custom called yui, in which neighbors gather together to help each other without payment when labor is needed, such as for planting rice or replacing thatched roofs.
This Workshop was planned with the desire to create a space where people could gather and have conversations through the activities of farming and eating, and to make people feel that primary industries are something close to them by producing and consuming rice crackers using rice grown on the Toride Campus.
We have set a limit on the number of participants for making rice crackers, but walk-ins are welcome to join in to eat them, so please feel free to join us.
Content: Senbei Basics (First Half: From Rice Cracker Formation to Drying)
Basic rice crackers take a long time to dry, so the rice crackers made in this workshop will be pre-dried in a food dryer and taken home. The rice crackers you will eat will be the ones we prepared in advance.

日本の農村社会には古来から結(ゆい)という慣習があります。田植えや茅葺き屋根の取り替えなど人手が必要な際に、近隣の人々が集まり対価なくお互いに助け合う慣習です。
この度の「せんべいわーくしょっぷ」は農作業や食という行為を通し、人が集い対話が生まれる空間を作りたいという思いや、取手キャンパス産の米を使用し煎餅を生産、消費することで、一次産業が身近にあるものであるということを感じてもらいたいという思いから企画しました。
せんべい作りの参加人数には制限を設けさせていただきましたが、食べる際には飛び込み参加大歓迎です、ぜひお気軽にご参加ください。
内容：煎餅基礎(前半:煎餅の形成〜乾燥まで)
基本の煎餅は乾燥に時間がかかるため、今回のワークショップで作った煎餅はフードドライヤーで仮乾燥させ、持ち帰っていただく。食べていただくのは事前に用意したもの。
