Global Art Practice MFA Course would like to warmly welcome you to our special lecture “The Chopsticks” by Song Dong + Yin Xiuzhen artists from China. Starting in 2001, Song and Yin began their ongoing project titled “The Way of the Chopsticks”. They decided on the central motif of chopsticks because of their symbolism—as discrete objects coming together to function as a pair. When Song and Yin work on the project, they produce their works in isolation, never seeing the other’s works until they install in the exhibition space. Their works reference geography, urban architecture, Chinese mythology, and quotidian life.

大学院美術研究科グローバルアートプラクティス専攻（GAP）では、中国の現代アート界を牽引する、宋冬（ソン・ドン）氏と尹秀珍（イン・シウジェン）氏を招いて公開講義を開講いたします。
両氏は「The Chopsticks」として、2001年より「筷道(kuài-dào)」プロジェクトを始動しました。
個々のオブジェクトが二つで一つの組み合わせで存在し、機能するという象徴として”箸”を主題に据えたプロジェクトであり、彼らはこのプロジェクトでの作品制作においては個別に制作し、展覧会空間に設置するまで互いの作品を見ないという手法をとりながら、現在まで活動を続けています。
彼らの作品のテーマである、地理学、都市建築、中国神話、そして日常生活を見る視点など、自作や「筷道」プロジェクトについて講義を行います。

Global Art Practice MFA Course would like to warmly welcome you to our special lecture and screening by French artist, Natacha Nisic. Working in variety of media such as Super 8 or 16mm films, video, photography and drawing, Nisic has gained international acclaim with her work exploring the invisible, often magical and complexly interwoven relationships between images and words, meanings and symbols. The lecture includes a screening of Osoresan (2017), a video work made in collaboration with historian Ken Daimaru, and screened at Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions in 2018. A female−one of the few remaining successors of itako (a shamanistic medium in the Northern region of Japan)−plays a key role in the work, and with vivid imageries and layers, recollects memories of the Japanese society.

大学院美術研究科グローバルアートプラクティス専攻（GAP）では、フランス人映像アーティストのナターシャ・ニジックを招いてトークとスクリーニングを行います。ニジックは、スーパー8や16ミリフィルム、ヴィデオ、写真、ドローイングなど様々なメディアを用いて、イメージと言葉、意味と象徴性の織りなす目に見えない不思議な関係性を問う作品を数多く制作し、世界的に高く評価されてきました。今回紹介する《恐山》（2017）は、ニジックが現代史研究者の䑓丸謙とともにリサーチと撮影を行って完成させた作品で、第10回恵比寿映像祭（2018）にて発表されました。数少ない「イタコ」の伝承者である女性の語りを軸に構成されたこの作品は、鮮烈なイメージとともに日本社会の記憶を重層的に映し出しています。

Natacha Nisic
Biography:
Born in 1967, in Grenoble, France. Studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (Paris), the Deutsche Film und Fernseh Akademie (Berlin), and La Fémis (Paris). Has been exhibiting worldwide, including her solo show “Echo” (Galeries Nationales du Jeu de Paume, Paris, 2014). From among many, residency at Villa Kujoyama Duo (Kyoto, 2001/2016).

ナターシャ・ニジック
講師プロフィール：
1967年グルノーブル（フランス）生まれ。フランス国立高等装飾美術学校、ドイツ映画テレビアカデミー、フランス国立映像音響芸術学院で学ぶ。個展「エコー」（ジュ・ド・ポーム国立美術館、パリ、2014）を はじめ各国で作品を発表している。ヴィラ九条山（京都、2001/2016）他、レジデンスにも多数参加。
