Description

Sogakudo Nihon Kakyoku Competition is a Japanese song competition organized by Art & Culture Foundation of Taito. Two divisions, vocal and composition, are held once a year. Both divisions have preliminary rounds, after which contestants are chosen for the final round, which is open to the audience at the Sogakudo of the former Tokyo Music School.

奏楽堂日本歌曲コンクールは、公益財団法人台東区芸術文化財団が主催する日本歌曲のコンクールです。年に一回、歌唱部門と作曲部門の二つが開催されます。両部門ともに予選があり、その上で本選出場者を決定し、最終審査として旧東京音楽学校奏楽堂にて公開での本選が行われます。

From Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 April the Jewellery Department of Valencia’s Escola Superior de Disseny will celebrate a new edition of the Melting Point biennial, an international event of contemporary jewellery.

New exhibition “Dérive feast” curated by waxogawa and Jingwen Li opens in the basement floor of Yokohama Civic Art Gallery.

The exhibition attempts to drift away from Tokyo where the centre of art scenes is located. Featuring young artists mostly, the exhibition proposes a possible feast days at Yokohama Civic Art Gallery, which is a public facility. In his book ‘A Movable feast’, Ernest Hemingway described the fast-changing challenges of literature arising from within the bustle of Paris. Paris as a rigid ground and the America as the birthplace of the White Cube… The vacillation between these two axes, as Hemingway mentioned, is mapped onto the Tokyo-Yokohama axes, among the collaboration with waxogawa and Li Jingwen.

横浜市民ギャラリー地下1階では、先天性両耳重度難聴という背景を持つキュレーター・waxogawa、 そして中国出身の作家/プロデューサー/研究者であ る李静文によるキュレーション展 「漂流祝祭日」が開催される。

東京というアートパワーの中心地に対して、漂流を試みる。本展の開催に際し、若手アーティストを中心にキュレーションを進め、横浜市民ギャラリーという公共施設で可能な「祝祭日」について提案する。ヘミングウェイは彼の著書である『移動祝祭日』のなかで、パリという喧騒の内側から発生する目紛しい文学の挑戦を記述した。強固な大地としてのパリと、ホワイトキューブの発祥地たるアメリカ。ヘミングウェイが記述した、この両軸の往還を、東京＝横浜の軸に写像する。

しばらくパリを離れて別の場所で暮らすという手もある（…）パリを離れてもパリのことを書けるだろう、と私は思った。（…）「あなたたちが論じ合っていた光のことや、描写の肌理の細かさや粗さ、フォルムのこと、あたし、みんな覚えているわよ」（…）私たちはまだ若く、そこでは何一つ単純なものはなかったのである。たとえそれが貧困であれ、突然転がり込む金であれ、月の光であれ、善悪であれ、あるいは月光を浴びてかたわらに横たわっている女の息遣いであれ。 ――E. ヘミングウェイ『移動祝祭日』

Sayo Ota, Íris Elva Ólafsdóttir, and Kristine Ervik

Kristine Ervik, Iris Elva Olafsdottir and Sayo Ota, born in Norway, Iceland and Japan respectively, all studied metal and jewellery at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Together they mark a generational shift in Norwegian jewellery art by developing conceptual jewellery art. The exhibits comprise of temporary, transitory and eroding necklaces made from steel, seed, soap, silver, thread, enamel and Japanese lacquer. While using traditional techniques such as making chains from steel and silver, Japanese lacquering, and simple, nostalgic seeds of a string, they reject jewellery as functional objects. With this exhibition, Kunstbanken wishes to promote new arts and crafts curators and show parts of the extensive and varied repertoire by upcoming jewellery artists.

Kristine Ervik、Iris Elva Olafsdottir、太田紗世は、それぞれノルウェー、アイスランド、日本で生まれ、オスロ国立芸術アカデミー、アーツアンドクラフト科のメタル&ジュエリーコースを卒業しています。 彼女たちの概念的なジュエリーアートを展開は、ノルウェーのジュエリーアートの世代交代の兆しを感じさせます。
スチール、植物の種、石鹸、シルバー、糸、七宝、漆などの素材を用い、一時的で儚く、腐食性のあるネックレスなどで構成された今回の展覧会では、伝統的な技法を用いながらも、機能的なものとしてのジュエリーを打ち消すような作品を展示しています。
新鋭の美術工芸のキュレーターや次世代のジュエリー アーティストによる広範で多様なレパートリーの一部を紹介する内容の展覧会をKunstbanken Center for Contemporary Artにて開催いたします。

“I like the atmosphere where the air stagnates, with high humidity. It feels soft, warm, blissful, and almost like dying. The pleasant smell of a futon. When thinking about delicate human relationships, I am always afraid of the way theater imposes various constraints on the audience and actors. Ordering to sit quietly in a chair, cutting off communication with the outside world. I used to think that was violent and feared it, but it seems that confronting each other face-to-face is not always the only correct way. We will perform a human relationship of tranquility and tension, bound in a closed space, based on the relationship between actors and the audience.”

「空気が滞留した、湿度の高い雰囲気が好きだ。やわらかく、あたたかく、幸福で、死にそうになる感じ。布団のいいにおい。誰かと身体のあたたかい部分を優しく触れ合うとき、情緒的な幸福と身体の即物性への畏怖が同時に現れる。
繊細な人間関係を考えるとき、観客と俳優にさまざまな拘束を強いる演劇のやり方にいつも恐怖する。外部との連絡を絶ち、椅子に座って黙って見ろと命令する。そのことを暴力的だと思って恐れていたが、ただ正面から対話することが常に正しい方法とは限らないようだ。閉じた空間で結ばれる、安らぎと緊張の人間関係を、俳優と観客の関係に準えて上演します」
